Yi-Lun Chien

Yi-Lun Chien is a costume designer with extensive experience across film, television, and theater. She began her career working in the costume department in Taiwan’s film industry, with credits including Silence (2016), directed by Martin Scorsese, and The Bold, the Corrupt, and the Beautiful (2017), directed by Yang Ya-che, which won the Golden Horse Award for Best Feature Film.

Now based in Los Angeles, Yi-Lun earned her MFA in Costume Design from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts, ’24). Her recent work as a costume designer includes Deep Into the Forest, which screened at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival as part of the Moving the Spotlight program, and Goodbye Stranger, long-listed for the 2025 BAFTA Student Awards.

Yi-Lun brings a strong background in fashion, storytelling, and cross-cultural collaboration, using costume as a narrative tool to build character and deepen the visual world of every project.
